Despite the crisis caused by Covid, until November the number of companies filing for bankruptcy was lower than the figures registered last year. Nevertheless, the figure is expected to grow significantly from April 2021, when the new bankruptcy moratorium period ends.
Specifically, in November the number of companies filing for bankruptcy grew by 17% year-on-year, to 492, but that figure was 10% lower than in October. So far this year, 3,916 companies have filed for bankruptcy in Spain, down by 4.1% compared to last year, with 20,254 company dissolutions, a decrease of 14%, according to a study by Informa D&B.
