The plenary session of the Constitutional Court has accepted the appeal filed by fifty PP members of parliament against the law to regulate and control rental prices approved in Cataluña in September.
Specifically, this regulation, which applies in 60 Catalan municipalities with more than 20,000 inhabitants, establishes that rental prices cannot increase compared to the previous contract and that if a home is being let for more than the average rental price in the area, then the new contract price may not exceed the Generalitat’s price index.
