The distribution of dividends has not escaped the destabilising effect of the coronavirus.

The CNMV and the College of Registrars have issued a document explaining the modifications that may be applied to companies’ results due to the situation generated by the pandemic.

This possibility comes after several major companies on the Spanish stock market, such as Banco Santander, already informed their shareholders of their plans to suspend their dividend payments. The National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) will now allow Spanish listed companies to alter their proposals for shareholder remuneration in the face of the situation triggered by Covid-19.
