Tendam, formerly known as Grupo Cortefiel, has decided to stop paying the rent to the owners of the premises in which its stores are located, even though it has not reached any agreement with them, according to Business Insider.
The group, which owns brands such as Cortefiel, Springfield, Pedro del Hierro, Women’secret, Fifty and Intropia, has sent a letter to its landlords explaining that it is temporarily suspending its rental payments due to the State of Emergency decreed by the Government on 14 March, which has forced it to close its stores nationwide since that day. A day earlier, it had already pulled down the shutters on its stores in Madrid, La Rioja and the Basque Country.
