Investment by the United Kingdom in Spain amounted to 1.004 billion euros during the first six months of 2020, demonstrating that neither Brexit nor Covid are putting the brakes on purchases by British companies and investors in the Iberian market.
According to a report prepared by Analistas Financieros Internacionales (AFI) for the British Chamber of Commerce, during the first half of 2020, the United Kingdom continued to be the largest European investor country (and the second largest worldwide) in Spain, with investment of more than 1 billion euros. Of that figure, Madrid accounted for more than 770 million euros, followed by Cataluña and other areas such as Valencia, País Vasco, Andalucía and Castilla y León.
