The British group Safestore Holdings has agreed to acquire four properties in Madrid and Barcelona, intending to convert them into automatic locker centres, as the group reported on Monday during a presentation of its financial results.
Safestore will invest 29 million euros in acquiring and subsequently refurbishing the assets, which have a surface area of around 12,000 square metres. The company arrived in Spain in 2019, when it acquired Oh My Box for 17.25 million euros. At that time, it bought four places in Barcelona, including some 10,000 square metres of floor space. The annual turnover of the British firm’s current Spanish business is over 3 million euros.
