The investment firm Round Hill Capital announced an agreement with the Canadian pension fund CPP Investments to invest one billion dollars in student housing in Europe.
Specifically, the two firms have launched a joint venture to invest the funds in student residences located in major education markets across Europe, including Spain. CPP Investments has committed to an initial investment of 475 million euros.
The assets will be operated primarily by Nido Student, Round Hill Capital’s specialist student property arm.
Round Hill Capital already has student residences in Europe, mainly in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands and Spain. “With 40 PBSA acquisitions to date, with a global value of €1.8 billion, we are firmly established as a market leader,” explains Michael Bickford, founder and CEO of Round Hill Capital.
