Rental of Tourist Homes Has Fallen by More than 47% This Summer

The owners of homes for tourist use on the Catalan coast are experiencing a very difficult season since occupancy in July has reached just 22% and is expected to amount to only 27% in August.

The average occupancy rate of tourist homes in the main destinations across Spain will fall by 47.5% in July and August, from 84.2% in 2019 to 36.7% this year, according to forecasts by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Tourist Homes and Apartments (Fevitur).
