Renfe is finalising a real estate plan focused on logistics to seek out new business ventures and enter the last-mile distribution segment. The company has identified 200,000 square metres of space and land with railway access and great potential for developing logistics activities.
The firm is currently studying two ways of exploiting the assets. On the one hand, it is considering leasing out its idle spaces, over the medium or long term, for use by third parties to carry out logistics activities. On the other hand, it is not ruling out participating in such businesses with partners from the logistics sector looking to set up shop on its premises, according to El Economista.
