Podemos Proposes Considering Anyone Who Owns More Than Five Homes as a Large Property Owner

The party led by Pablo Iglesias proposes that the new Housing Act considers anyone who owns five or more assets to be a large property owner, whereas the Government currently sets the threshold at ten properties.

In the context of the negotiations between the PSOE and Unidos Podemos to finalise the draft of the future Housing Act, a new proposal has emerged. Specifically, the party headed by Pablo Iglesias is going to ask the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda (Mitma) to define large property owners as those natural or legal persons who own five or more properties, according to Cinco Días.

In this way, the proposal from Unidos Podemos would cut in half the description of a large property owner that the Government has been using in the decree-laws that have been approved in the context of housing since the beginning of the Covid crisis.
