The decree-law approved by the Executive Council of the Generalitat allowing it to intervene in the rental market in Cataluña entered into force in the early hours of last Friday. The measure seeks to help alleviate the economic impact of the restrictions due to coronavirus crisis on businesses and the hospitality industry.
The law involves reductions of up to 50% on the rental costs of assets leased by establishments affected by the temporary opening restrictions or by the limitations over opening hours and capacity, in those cases in which a private agreement has not been reached between the parties.
