Overnight hotel stays in Spain exceeded €25.6 million in September 2021, an increase of 212.1% compared to the same month last year, largely due to the ongoing recovery from the coronavirus pandemic.
Overnights by residents of Spain, which represented 46.1% of the total, increased by 84.9% y-o-y, while those of non-residents rose by 657.7%.
The average stay rose by 33.2% compared to September 2020, reaching 3.1 overnight stays per person.
Between January and September 2021, overnight stays in hotels increased by 48.5% compared to the first nine months of last year. Visits by Spanish travellers increased by 57.4%, while those of foreign travellers rose by 38.1%.
