Oaktree, Apollo, Azora and Schroders Evaluate Hotel Purchases in the Spanish Market

Investment funds are waiting for the transaction market in Spain to reopen so that they can buy hotels with discounts given the need in the sector due to the Covid crisis.

Investment funds such as the American firms Apollo and Oaktree, the British firms Henderson Park and Round Hill and the Swiss firm Pictet are exploring the Spanish hotel market in search of opportunities arising as a result of the Covid-19 crisis, according to market sources speaking to Expansión.

Other more institutional investors have also decided to invest in the hotel real estate market during the pandemic. Such is the case of the multinational fund manager Schroders, which has just completed the first closing of its pan-European hotel fund Schroder European Operating Hotels Fund after raising 425 million euros.
