The investment vehicle of the former owner of Cirsa Holding has increased its position in Merlin Properties to 8.168%, according to a note sent to the Spanish National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
Nortia is the second-largest shareholder after Banco Santander (22.268%) and ahead of US investment bank Blackrock (3.996%). The investment would exceed 363 million euros.
After the sharp fall in the stock markets in February and March 2020, Nortia informed the CNMV that it owned 5.39% of the Socimi, closing March with 6.22%. Over the last year, it has been increasing this position. Merlin has a capitalisation of 4.4 billion euros, which puts the investment of Manuel Lao, who has a controlling stake in Nortia investment, at around €359 million.
