Non-Hotel Overnight Stays Rose to Almost 2,000,000 in June Compared with 295,000 in May

In June, the number of overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodation exceeded 1,975,000, which represented a decrease of 84.6% compared to the same month in 2019.

In June, the month that saw the end of the State of Emergency due to the coronavirus, the number of overnight stays in non-hotel tourist accommodation – apartments, campsites, rural tourism accommodation and hostels – exceeded 1,975,000, which represented a decrease of 84.6% compared to those registered during the same month in 2019, according to data published by the INE on Friday.

In this sense, in May, non-hotel tourist establishments registered visits from 42,150 travellers who made more than 295,000 overnight stays, down by 96.8% in interannual terms.
