Non-Hotel Overnight Stays Deteriorate to Fall by 66.7% in October, According to INE

During the first ten months of the year, the number of overnight stays spent in apartments, campsites, rural houses and hostels fell by 57.3%, according to the agency.

Overnight stays in tourist accommodation, excluding hotels, decreased by 66.7% in October compared to the same month a year earlier. Only in January and February, i.e. before the spring lockdown, did the data for 2020 improve YoY.

In this way, the interannual decrease in non-hotel overnight stays during the first ten months of the year stands at 53.7%, according to a report by the National Institute of Statistics (INE). The decrease of 66.7% in October was worse than the figure obtained in September when the fall amounted to 58.4%.
