Unlike during the previous crisis in the housing market, this time around, the new-build segment has been stimulated by favourable payment facilities, -typically established for off-plan purchases-. Moreover, pent-up demand produced a notable increase in the purchase of new apartments during the second and third quarters of the year.
But, in a year marked by the pandemic, the geographical distribution of new home construction activity reveals some surprising data, which is reflected in a report entitled “The Residential Sector in Spain” prepared by Colliers International Spain.
