The evolution of new-build prices in Cataluña remained stable throughout 2019. However, in the city of Barcelona, the average price amounted to €5,864 per square metre in the second half of 2019, which represented a 15% rise in interannual terms and a 1.7% decrease compared to the previous half of the year. By neighbourhood, Nou Barris registered the greatest increase in the last six months, whilst there were slight variations in Gràcia, Sant Andreu and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, according to a report on the new-build market in Cataluña prepared by Forcadell.
By the end of the year, the sector evolved positively, after going through a period of equilibrium. For its part, demand remained stable in 2019, as it has done over the past two years, “the fruit of the good health enjoyed by the real estate sector in general,” according to the consultant.
