New mortgage signings left behind the double-digit increase registered in September, although October still saw the highest figure since February 2020, according data released on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).

The signing of new mortgages for the acquisition of a home fell by 5.9% in October compared to the same month in 2019, whereby leaving behind the double-digit increase registered in September (the first rise since the pandemic was declared in February). That is according to data released on Tuesday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
