The Socimi Merlin Properties has negotiated a turnkey project with Logista to build the first warehouse in the logistics development called Cabanillas Park II, which has 210,000 square metres of gross leasable area and is located in Madrid’s Corredor del Henares.
The distribution company will take over the facility, which will have a surface area of more than 47,000 square metres, with the option to add a further 47,000 square metres within a year.
According to Merlin, the warehouse will be adapted to Logista’s current needs, including a 4,000 m2 area dedicated to cold logistics. It will also meet the highest environmental standards, seeking to obtain LEED certification.
This is one of “our largest turnkey projects, and with it, we are expanding our footprint in the A-2 corridor, where Merlin is already the undisputed leader,” says Luis Lázaro, Managing Director of Retail and Logistics at Merlin Properties.
