The CEO of Merlin Properties, Ismael Clemente, has asked for an amendment to the Capital Companies Act that will correctly disclose the identity of the shareholders of listed companies that are behind the investment banks and asset managers to be approved urgently. Resolving this issue would help improve corporate governance, according to the Executive.

“It is completely unfair for a manager to have all of his personal and family accounts fully audited and to have to declare any movement he makes with stocks, etc., when at no time are the identities of the ultimate shareholders of a listed company known”, said Ismael Clemente, CEO of the Socimi, during a webinar about shareholder activism organised by Llorente & Cuenca.
