According to Rosa Aguado, Director General of Mercadona, speaking at the 10th Aecoc Supply Chain Conference, the distribution group is planning to reinforce its logistics chain between 2020 and 2025 with the creation of new platforms such as the one currently being built in Sagunto (Valencia), as well as the expansion of the existing ones.
The company led by Juan Roig will inaugurate its new facilities in Getafe (Madrid) before the end of the year to reinforce its dry, perishable and frozen goods warehouses, which will follow an investment of 187 million euros in the construction of a logistics block in País Vasco.
