Madrid continues to grow at its edges, especially in the southeast. The Madrid City Council is making progress on the Los Cerros, Los Ahijones, Valdecarros, Los Berrocales and El Cañaveral areas, which form the Southeast Developments and will involve the construction of 100,000 affordable homes, half of which will be subsidised.
According to the Consistory, it is currently working with the compensation boards to make “the necessary adjustments and make a more modern and sustainable detailed planning.”
Mariano Fuentes, the Urban Development Area delegate for the City Council, assures that progress is being made on the management agreements for Los Cerros and Valdecarros. The latter will be approved in the plenary session this month, and its urbanisation will begin to be put out to tender in 2021.
