Madrid Invests €20 Million in a Multifunctional Building in Las Letras Neighbourhood

The mayor stressed that the project is going to address the lack of facilities in the neighbourhood and highlighted that "agreements need to be reached by the City Council, such as the Acuerdos de la Villa".

Work is going to begin on a new multifunctional building on Calle Fúcar, a complex that will have five different uses and that is going to be developed on a municipal site spanning more than 3,000 square metres located between Calle Fúcar, 6 and Costanilla de los Desamparados, 15, in the heart of Madrid’s Las Letras neighbourhood.

The facilities

The building, which is going to be built by the Works and Facilities Department, will house a nursery school, a day centre, a sports centre with a swimming pool, a cleaning section and parking for residents with 200 spaces spread over three levels. In total, the new facilities will add 18,000 square metres of constructed surface area over eleven storeys.
