The Department of Social Affairs has applied the order dated 27 March that allows for its intervention in public, subsidised and private retirement homes. In this way, it has sent civil servants in to strengthen the eight nursing homes most affected by the coronavirus. These officials will assume the command, although the directors of the centres will not be removed, according to ABC.
The Madrilenian Agency for Social Care and the Madrilenian Agency for the Elderly will be in charge, in order to facilitate an exit from the crisis situation in which the eight residences in the worst conditions are currently immersed. The affected centres are: Vitalia Leganés, Domusvi Espartales, Isabel la Católica, Casa Quinta, Reina Sofía, Monte Hermoso, San Celedonio and Sergesa Boadilla.
