Madrid, Barcelona and Palma, the Provincial Capitals Where New Home Prices Are Rising by the Most

New home prices have increased by 1.4% in the Balearic capital over the last year, to €2,162/m2; whilst prices in Barcelona and Madrid have risen by 1.3%.

The average price of new build homes in the provincial capitals of Spain amounted to 2,476 euros per square metre in December 2020, up by 0.9% in interannual terms and by 0.2% compared to June 2020, according to data from Sociedad de Tasación.

The December figures reveal that the growth rate in the price of new housing has slowed for the third consecutive year and that the trend towards a moderation in prices that began at the end of 2018 is continuing, according to Juan Fernández-Aceytuno, Director General of Sociedad de Tasación.
