The Community of Madrid and the Association of Rental Home Owners (ASVAL) have agreed to collaborate in the search for initiatives to improve access to the rental market in the region.

During the course of a virtual meeting between the Minister for Housing and Local Administration, David Pérez, and the President of Asval, Joan Clos, the two leaders agreed that the rental market is facing a series of additional challenges as a result of the emergence of Covid-19. As such, they concurred that ‘dynamic’ responses will be needed for a housing model that accounts for approximately 33% of the housing stock in Europe compared with 22% in Spain.
