
The volume of logistics investment during the second quarter of 2021 reached €1.382 billion, an increase of 750% quarter-on-quarter. This increase is mainly due to the largest logistics deal in recent years, Bankinter’s acquisition of Montepino’s logistics portfolio, according to the consultancy firm JLL.
In addition, land purchases exceeded €119 million between April and June, increasing 377%.
Private banking and Spanish investors led logistics investment during the second quarter of 2021, again due to the Montepino deal. Excluding this transaction, funds continued to be the most active in the market and led the main transactions, alongside international investors.
Compared to the seCompared to the second quarter of 2020, when there were only 49 million euros in deals due to the economic slowdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic, logistics investment increased by 2,733%.
