Lidl Acquires a Plot Spanning 158,000 m2 in León

The company plans to open another four warehouses in Escúzar (Granada), Parla (Madrid), Martorell (Barcelona) and Constantí (Tarragona) over the next few years.

Lidl has acquired a plot measuring 158,000 m2 in the Leonese municipality of Villadangos del Páramo to build a new logistics platform and take another step towards guaranteeing its sustainable expansion across the North West of Spain. This project, which will generate wealth and employment in the local area, forms part of the supermarket chain’s firm commitment to continue growing throughout Spain.

The project was announced last week in an act presided by the Minister for the Economy and Finance for Castilla y León, Carlos Javier Fernández; the Minister for the Environment, Housing and Territorial Planning for Castilla y León, Juan Carlos Suárez-Quiñones; the General Director of Infrastructures and Environmental Sustainability for Castilla y León, José Manuel Jiménez; the territorial delegate in León for Castilla y León, Ester Muñoz; and the Mayor of Villadangos del Páramo, Alejandro Barrera, along with other political figures.
