A new international luxury hotel group is entering the Spanish market. The Harma Group, a chain founded by the English businessman John Spence, has more than thirty five-star hotels in 11 countries.

The group acquired the Hacienda La Herriza hotel, in Gaucín (Málaga), in the heart of the Serranía de Ronda. It is a complex with 4,000 square metres of land and almost 600 square metres of surface area. It currently has 17 villas, each with a living room, one to three bedrooms and one or two bathrooms.

Karma Group plans to build a 30-suite luxury hotel, including restaurants, bars and a swimming pool. “The location couldn’t be more ideal, within 45 minutes of two incredible beaches, including the Costa del Sol and the vibrant city of Marbella. Nearby is also the wonderful mountain town of Ronda,” the company confirms.

Before the opening, Karma will undertake a major refurbishment. Work is to begin shortly, intending to open the hotel at Easter in 2022.

“Having a resort in Spain is a real pleasure for Karma and me because of my background in this magnificent country. I am confident that all of our company members and clients will love this property,” says John Spence, president and founder of Karma Group.
