Interxion has announced the purchase of a plot of land in Barcelona to create a large data centre. The company, which belongs to the Digital Realty Company group, has acquired a plot of land in the northwest of the Catalan capital, specifically in the municipality of Sant Adrià de Besòs, which has an assigned IT capacity of 15 megawatts.
“The land where the future data centre is going to be built is strategically located to provide fast, direct and resilient access to the main submarine cables and interconnection points,” explain sources at the company.
