The coronavirus is continuing to have an impact: house sales sank by 18.6% in March in inter-annual terms, the biggest drop since August 2019, according to the National Institute of Statistics (INE). Madrid led the decrease, with a reduction of 30.8%.
The fall in house sales registered in March, as a result of the pandemic, is the largest since last August 2019, two months after the shock on operations from the entry into force of the Mortgage Law. That legislation paralysed the concession of funding from the middle of June last year.
