Forecasting a drop in prices as a consequence of a decrease in buyer purchasing power seems to be the general trend, but Spain’s General Council of COAPI (Official College of Real Estate Agents) remains cautious in this regard, on the basis that there are many external factors that could influence the evolution.
“To give you an idea, even what happens with the regulation of rental prices will influence the trend in purchase prices, since, if there is any movement of properties destined for rent to sale, then that will have an impact”, explain sources from Spain’s General Council of COAPI, which considers that analysing the market by micro-markets based on neighbourhoods, type of housing and types of market would offer a more realistic analysis of the real estate sector.
