Hotel Occupancy Rates Fell by 55% During H1

During the first six months of the year, occupancy rates in Spanish hotels stood at 33%, a drop of 54.8% compared to the same period in 2019.

The hotels that are currently open represent 37% of the total stock in normal conditions prior to the pandemic. The first half of this year has been the worst start to a year in recent decades as a result of the health crisis, which has ended a long bullish cycle, according to the Barometer of the Hotel Sector in Spain report, prepared by STR and Cushman & Wakefield.

Specifically, during the first six months of the year, occupancy rates in Spanish hotels stood at 33%, down by 54.8% compared to the same period in 2019.
