In August, home sales and purchases in Spain increased by 61% compared to the same month in 2020, as reported Thursday by the Association of Registrars.
The figure rose to 46,989 in August from 29,180 transactions in August of last year, increasing more than 17,800 transactions. The jump was due to the slowdown in activity caused by the coronavirus pandemic in August during the previous year.
Compared to the same month in 2019, which saw 33,294 transactions, sales were up by 41.1%, a more significant figure given that this is a month in a normal economic cycle.
Mortgages on homes in August rose by 69.5% compared to the same month in 2020.
