Hard Rock International and Mercan Properties have just announced plans to launch the new Hard Rock Hotel Algarve in Portugal. The new development will be located near the stunning Praia do Vau beach in Portimão, further expanding the global reach of this iconic brand. The investment amount has not been disclosed.
The hotel unit, expected to begin construction in early 2024 and open in the summer of 2026, will feature around 275 luxury rooms and suites, as well as 150 apartments with personalized brand services.
In addition to direct access to Praia do Vau from the new structure, guests will enjoy a wide range of amenities, including the famous Hard Rock Roxity Kids Club™, three restaurants, three bars, three outdoor pools, a Rock Spa®, a gym, a Rock Shop®, a sports area, and a beach club. The new Hard Rock Hotel Algarve will also offer a conference room.

Portimão is an ideal vacation destination, boasting historical ports, a vibrant marina, and worldwide recognition as the home of the Algarve International Circuit, where the Portuguese Formula 1 Grand Prix took place in 2020 and 2021. The city is known for having some of the best beaches in the Algarve region, with an extensive coastline featuring calm, warm, and crystal-clear waters. Praia do Vau, where the new Hard Rock Hotel Algarve will be located, is surrounded by copper-toned cliffs, turquoise-blue water, and a great selection of restaurants with a rich offering of fresh fish.

The new development is expected to create over 400 jobs in the surrounding area during construction and operation starting in 2024. It is also anticipated that the hotel will boost the potential of the country’s tourism offering.
