Franklin Templeton has decided to invest in the Spanish real estate market, specifically in one of the most sought-after office niches: the 22@ financial district in Barcelona.
Franklin Templeton has acquired a 9,900-m2 office complex located in Barcelona’s 22@ district, which is currently leased to the Generalitat de Catalunya.
The building is currently 80% occupied by the Catalan Employment Agency (Servei Públic d’Ocupació de Catalunya), which will assume full occupancy of the property from October 2021 on a long-term basis.
“We are delighted to have closed a deal on this asset, which meets our clients’ objective of investing in buildings that facilitate social services and have a positive impact on society,” explains Raymond Jacobs, Managing Director of Franklin Real Asset Advisors, who believes that this is a good long-term investment in Spain.
