In total, 4,756 mortgage foreclosures were recorded over homes between July and September, up by 63.7% compared to the previous quarter, but down by 17.2% compared to the same period in 2019, according to the foreclosure statistics published on Thursday by the National Institute of Statistics (INE).
Of the home foreclosures executed during the third quarter, 2,305 involved the homes of individuals, double the number registered in the previous quarter and up by 70.7% in year-on-year terms.
