The main commercial arteries in Barcelona are beginning to revive. Pedestrian traffic on the city’s main shopping streets have returned to levels similar to that of the summer of 2020, when the measures against Covid-19 were less restrictive.
According to a study by CBRE, the number of pedestrians on the Rambla Catalunya rose by 11.5% in the first quarter of this year compared to the summer of 2020 (June, July and August), a clear recovery.
According to Susana Elhombre, director of High Street at CBRE Barcelona, “this percentage is very positive as, once again, we see that the pedestrian traffic on this commercial artery is supported mainly by residents and workers in the area, a fact that is accelerating the area’s recovery.”
