Facebook to Invest €1 Billion in the Construction of a Data Center in Spain

Talavera de la Reina, in Toledo, is going to be the home of the largest data center in Spain. The project will comprise five or six buildings on a 2 million square meter site.

Facebook, now known by its new name Meta, has announced the development of a state-of-the-art data center in Talavera de la Reina, in Toledo. The construction and launch of this alternative asset will require an investment of 1 billion euros.

The new data center in Toledo will be the company’s fourth such property in Europe. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2023 on a plot spanning two million square meters on the Torrehierro industrial estate. The center will comprise five or six buildings, with the specific plans still to be finalized.
