Eroski has reached an agreement with Sabeko Banaketa for the acquisition of a portfolio of ten of its Simply branded supermarkets in Vizcaya, as reported by the Basque cooperative. The premises that form part of the operation are located in Bilbao (5), Basauri (1), Erandio (1), Galdakao (1), Getxo (1) and Santurtzi (1). Together they cover an approximate commercial area of 8,500 square meters.
The operation, which has been closed for an undisclosed amount, still requires the approval of the National Market and Competition Commission (CNMC). Once authorized, Eroski plans to renovate the stores and adapt them to the firm’s ‘Contigo’ model.
