Inflation is setting off alarms. The Consumer Price Index, the metric used by the National Institute of Statistics to measure price increases, has reached its highest level since May 1992, 6.5%.
Housing is one of the groups that has pushed the index up the most. According to the public body, the annual variation in house prices amounted to 23.3%, six and a half points above that registered in November, mainly caused by the increase in electricity prices.
