Colonial has decided to take advantage of its compliance with sustainability criteria to finance itself under better conditions. In this way, the company has announced that both it and its French subsidiary, Société Foncière Lyonnaise (“SFL”), will convert the entire amount of their outstanding bonds into green bonds.
In total, Colonial and SFL have outstanding bonds amounting to 4.6 billion euros. Now, the Socimi and its subsidiary will allocate an amount equivalent to the principal of the current bonds in circulation to finance or refinance a portfolio of green assets that meets the environmental criteria necessary to be considered green bonds.
