Two families have joined forces to buy the Torre Bizkaia. Specifically, José Galíndez, founder of Solarpack, and the Ybarra Careaga family have closed the purchase of the iconic asset in Bilbao. The buyers have paid between 165 and 175 million euros to the fund Angelo Gordon.
The property was built in 1970 and spans 9,542 square metres. It is currently being renovated, a process that is scheduled to end in 2022, although traces of asbestos have been detected in the complex. Historically, it housed the headquarters of BBVA in Bilbao.
