The Barcelona City Council has suspended the concession of licences for tourist rooms in housing, building permits for shared accommodations and other authorisations for one year.
The moratorium is a response to the need to draw up, over the next twelve months, new municipal regulations governing the rental of rooms and flats use by tourists, as provided for in the Tourism Decree, which was approved by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia on August 4th.
