Barcelona has remained in fourth position in the world ranking of conference cities prepared by the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), for the number of meetings organised in 2018, ahead of Madrid, which fell from third to fifth place.
In a statement, Barcelona City Council highlighted that the Catalan capital has been in the ranking’s ‘top 5’ for 20 years – the only Spanish city to achieve this feat – and that it is the first non-capital city to be ranked in the top ten.
