Architrave, the leading asset management platform in Europe, has acquired Arex, a North American-based proptech company that creates software solutions to simplify transactions, valuations and commercialisation processes in real estate. For Architrave, the acquisition is the next bold stride towards transforming how asset managers worldwide use digital processes to achieve faster transactions and make more data-informed decisions. Arex founders Miguel Linera Alperi and Pablo Garnica will also join the Architrave team.
Architrave’s momentum in recent months has been fierce. The acquisition comes after its entry into the UK market in June with property giant SEGRO, followed by two senior hires in July. Snapping up Arex is a sign of Architrave’s appetite for further expansion.
Founded in 2019 by Miguel Linera Alperi and ex-Goldman Sachs banker, Pablo Garnica, Arex has achieved success in Canada, Spain, and the UK. Arex’s international presence significantly increases Architrave’s reach into new markets, where they aspire to build upon their achievements in the DACH region and the UK. Arex, which is trusted by Colliers and has recently been awarded with the CBRE Valuations challenge, strengthens Architrave’s already stellar list of customers including SEGRO, abrdn, Deka and BNP Paribas.
Founded by Maurice Grassau in 2013, Architrave achieved huge success in the DACH regions, and has begun to bring its document automation and standardisation to international markets. Acquiring Arex bolsters Architrave with the additional infrastructure and expertise to become a global proptech powerhouse. Arex’s products complement Architrave’s already impressive suite and bring their users the future of asset management.
Miguel Linera Alperi, CEO and Co-founder of Arex commented on the acquisition:
“Being acquired by Architrave gets us closer to our goal of creating the largest digital ecosystem in the real estate industry. The extraordinary technology, leadership team and the talent Architrave has makes us confident this partnership will be a success for both companies, our clients and the industry as a whole. We’re looking forward to strengthening our offer and bringing our asset management solutions to a global audience.”
Pablo Garnica, Co-founder of Arex adds:
“This deal evidences both that a crucial job must be done in Europe—and our willingness to fulfil it. Our shared focus and joint capacity for execution will launch us to better deliver the proptech our clients deserve. This is the culmination of years of hard work and continued support from many people – to them we owe our gratitude.”
Maurice Grassau, CEO and Founder of Architrave said:
“Firstly, I want to extend a very warm welcome to Miguel, Pablo, the entire Arex team, and their shareholders and clients. It’s great to have you onboard – we’re going to do fantastic things together. In acquiring Arex, we’ve significantly extended the reach of the Architrave ecosystem, offering two new value-driven products to our customers as well as serving clients in Spain, Canada and London.
Our vision? With this acquisition, we’re positioning ourselves as a proptech global powerhouse of the future. The real estate industry desperately needs to enter the modern era and go digital. With our M&A strategy, we’re building the necessary infrastructure to make that happen. Looking ahead, our appetite for further acquisitions is voracious – so watch this space!”
