The tourist group Apple Leisure Group (ALG), which bought the Spanish manager Alua at the end of 2018 through its subsidiary AMResorts, is increasing its presence in the Spanish market where it is already the fourth largest hotel chain by number of rooms after Meliá, Barceló and Eurostars.
Javier Águila, shareholder and President of the Apple Leisure Group for Europe and President of Global Strategy at the group level since last July, points out, in an interview with Expansión, that “despite the growth experienced in Spain, there are still geographical areas where we have the capacity to grow, both in terms of coastal hotels, as well as five-star properties for our upscale brands”.
