Coronavirus is disrupting all kinds of events, including the celebration of fairs, conferences and meetings. The Spanish Association of Shopping Centres and Retail Parks (AECC), which comprises more than 300 partners in the retail sector and which saw 1,000 visitors at the most recent fair, is the latest organisation to postpone the celebration of its sectoral conference until June 2021. It follows in the footsteps of SIMA and BMP, as confirmed by industry sources speaking to brainsrenews.
Under the slogan ‘Leisure’, the Association chaired by Eduardo Ceballos was scheduled to hold its conference between 30 September and 2 October in Sevilla. It would have been the XVIII edition of the Spanish Conference of Shopping Centres and Retail Parks, and its aim was to address a set of new formulas to boost the shopping experience, at a time of clear challenges to the traditional shopping and leisure model, which are being further aggravated by the pandemic.
