Amazon has announced that it is going to open its second logistics centre in the Community of Madrid. The new centre, located in Alcalá de Henares, will be ready at the beginning of the autumn and will create permanent jobs for more than 500 people over three years, in addition to the 7,000 people that the company already employs on a permanent basis throughout Spain.
The new logistics centre will be located on the El Encín industrial estate, in the Henares Corridor, 30 kilometres from the capital. It is the second logistics centre that the company is commissioning in 2020, after the announcement of a new state-of-the-art robotic centre in Dos Hermanas, Sevilla. Amazon will use this new centre for storage and order picking, whereby supporting its operations in Spain and Europe.
